Senate passes spending cuts after Cheney breaks tie
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Wednesday narrowly passed a bill to trim nearly $40 billion from federal spending over five years, including cuts to social welfare programs such as health care for the elderly and poor.
But the super-rich (like Cheney) keep their tax cuts.
The man is going to hell.

Is there an actual dollar amount we have to spend on social programs in order to avoid going to hell? And since these weren't actual cuts, rather stemming the growth rate of spending, is there a rate of increase we have to maintain to avoid eternal damnation? And which specific programs were "cut"? Were they competing or or duplicated/overlapping programs? Because God forbid we actually dive an inch below the surface of an issue before we invoke fire and brimstone.
